"Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2" (movie critique)

PAUL BLART: MALL COP 2

The Travelling Toe and a friend who has requested that her identity remain anonymous, went to the local mall multiplex and saw "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2".

In the first movie of this franchise the action took place in a mall in New Jersey.  For the second movie the glitzy location of Las Vegas was used and the majority of the story takes place at the Wynn Hotel.

The story line is that Paul (Kevin James) and his daughter, Maya, travel to Las Vegas to attend a convention for security officers.  His daughter, played by Raini Rodriguez, has been accepted to UCLA but has concerns about telling her father the good news as it would leave him all lone back in NJ   Add to that villains who have devious plans to steal all the expensive art work at the Wynn Hotel.

When Paul's daughter is captured and help hostage by the bad guys, he does what he does best - use the non-lethal weapons he has access to in the convention vendor exhibit hall.

The movie has one of the funniest and best slow motion hotel hallway fight scenes ever between the bad guys and Paul's entourage of a team of misfit security officers.  Loni Love (Donna Ericone) part of Paul's posse, is someone you just don't want to mess with and she shows you why.

The main bad guy, Vincent, (Neal McDonough), who has 2 different colored eyes just to make him even more weird and his second in command, Robinson (DB Woodside), do get what's coming to them in the end - of course!

One hint, if you ever go to the Wynn and see a rather large bird appear out of the shrubbery - be afraid....be very afraid....and run for your life.

Yes, dear readers, this movie is pretty silly, cheesy and outrageous, but is also has a few redeeming factors - love and support of family, a man who goes to work each day to make a difference, to help others and who takes pride in what he does.  What's wrong with that???

As Paul would say - "help some one today"!  good idea!

The Travelling Toe gives this movie 2 pinkie toes up with a side of Vegas glitter!
