"The Hitman's Bodyguard" (movie critique)

THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD
movie poster

It was Friday and the Movie Mavens and The Travelling Toe decided to see the newest action flick at the multiplex.  The movie chosen was "The Hitman's Bodyguard".

Ryan Reynolds plays a top protection agent who has fallen on hard times due to a failed job where his client was assassinated.  He is asked by his ex,who is still at Interpol, to provide protection for a notorious hit man played by Samuel L Jackson.  The hitman has agreed to testify against an Eastern European dictator who is on trial at The Hague.  But they only have 24 hours to make it from Manchester to The Hague.  The only reason the hitman has agreed to testify is that Interpol has promised to give his wife, who is also in jail, a pardon but only on the condition that he makes it to The Hague.  Needless to say there are numerous really bad people who want to ensure that the two of them do not make it there.  Along the way, the two guys bicker, complain, and try to out do each other on the trip.  They dodge bullets, grenades, survive car chases, foot chases, hand-to-hand combat that finally climaxes in a harrowing boat chase through the canals of Amsterdam.

So Dear Readers, do the boys make it on time to testify at The Hague?  Well, The Travelling Toe will not reveal the ending - you will just have to see the movie for yourself to find out.
