Red Hat Luncheon at NM Cafe

On a recent Saturday, The Travelling Toe and Dear Friend joined a group of Red Hatters to have lunch at the NM Cafe. It is located in the new Neiman Marcus store at the Clearfork shops in Fort Worth.

The theme of the lunch program was JOY.  At each place setting was a bottle of "JOY" dish washing soap.  Attached to the bottle with ribbon, was a card stating,"Today I Choose Joy." On the  reverse side was printed the lyrics to that old rocking song, "I've got the joy, joy, joy down in my heart! Down in my heart to Stay!"  (The Travelling Toe must admit singing that song rather off key in Sunday School.)

Table favors were scrumptious candy, "Almond Joy".  That alone can put joy in your heart and your tummy!

At each place setting was a notecard to be filled out about Finding Joy In Your Journey and each of us were to write what brings us joy in our lives.  And as no surprise, family and friends were the top choices of what brought joy into each person's life.

All the attendees were given a scroll about Joy and how to seek it out.  It ends with:

                            Simply let it be.....
                        The journey brings me joy
                          Choose Joy Today

We were able to order individually from the menu.  Dear Friend and The Travelling Toe opted for the sampler plate which had 1/2 sandwich, cup of soup and fruit.  While we waited for our meals to be prepared, we were served the most delicious hot, huge popover with strawberry butter and a demitasse cup of broth.  Oh yum!!!

This is the pretty paper wrapped around the homemade chips.  it has little butterflies on it.

And for dessert, Creme Brulee! How awesome is that!!!  YUMO!!!

It was a delightful time full of fun, laughter, and delicious food shared with a group of caring women!

As we were leaving the store we saw this beautiful plexiglass windmill on the shopping mall grounds.

The windmill was constructed out of steel and plexiglass.  The artist,Tom Fruin completed the sculpture in 2007. Mr. Fruin has his studio in Brooklyn NY.  It was so beautiful with the sun streaming through the multi colored panels.
