The Movie Mavens and The Travelling Toe were off to the local multiplex to catch the newest flick, "The Circle". This is an interesting movie and does prove topics for lots of discussion.
The main character of the movie is Mae Holland. Mae thinks she has landed her dream job by being hired to work at the world's most powerful and influential tech companies known as The Circle. The headquarters for the company is in the form of a large circle. After a few weeks on the job, Mae is approached by 2 other employees telling her is not taking advantage of all the free social events that the company offers. No, attendance at these events are not mandatory but employees are encouraged to attend as many as possible and post pictures and comments on their social media accounts. It becomes apparent that The Circle wants more out of it's employees and it's customers. The co-founder of the company, Eamonn Bailey, wants Mae to be the first person to be on-line, real-time, all the time for everyone to see. She will be wearing a small camera with a microphone so everyone can see what she is seeing and hearing her conversations. Plus then viewers can post comments to her account about what is going on. It appears that she is allowed 3 minutes for private bathroom time. (Obviously that part of the script was written by a man as the real truth is sometimes women have to wait in line for 5-10 minutes just to get to the facilities! We don't just zip it down, whip it out and zip it back up!!!) But her decision to be the beta tester for this product has disastrous ramifications for friends and family.
So where does personal privacy end? At the front door or maybe not?
Side Note: In one of his last roles, Bill Paxton, plays Vinnie Holland, Mae's father. He has MS and The Circle even drags him and her mother into their plots.

The Travelling Toe gives this movie 2 middle toes up with your own personal tin foil hat to keep the radio waves at bay!!!
