On a hot day in Texas, The Travelling Toe and a dear friend were on a trip to San Angelo and seeking some AC and escape from the heat, opted to take a tour of Miss Hattie's Bordello Museum just to spice up the day. The bordello is upstairs next to the jewelry store where you purchase your ticket. Our guide was very friendly and shared information about the history of the bordello. On the tour we learned a lot about Miss Hattie and her business "affairs" and the ladies she employed at her establishment. All the rooms are in excellent condition and many have the original furnishings left from 1950 when the bordello was closed by the Texas Rangers. Each room is named for a particular lady and we were entertained with stories of each one of the ladies and their adventures. The Travelling Toe and friend determined that on a hot afternoon AC would have been appreciated by the previous occupants as well as current visitors to the bordello. As this may be the only time that the Travelling Toe would have the opportunity to venture into a bordello, the small price of the entrance fee was worth the fun and entertaining tour.
