Moody Gardens, Galveston TX- Rainforest

On a trip to Galveston Island, The Travelling Toe and three friends decided to visit Moody Gardens.  It consists of 2 large pyramids set amongest beautifully landscaped grounds.  One of the pyramids is an aquarium and the other is a rainforest.  We 4 tourists decided to take a walk through the rain forest.  Entering through the door, another world emerged full of tropical plants and animals - butterflies, Macaws, parrots, monkeys, bats, sloths and various birds flying about.   At the bottom of the pyramid is a pond with sting rays swimming around.  Walking up and down the pathways was a fun adventure for us all.  After leaving the rain forest floor, we determined we had to forage for food, so we went on a search and found the cafe located in the pyramid.  The cafe had large windows overlooking the Galveston channel and it made for a nice relaxing lunch break.   After we were rested and replinished, we decided we must visit the gift shop on the way out.  It is located in the lobby and easy to find.  It has a large assortment to choose from in order to find that special souvenir as a reminder of one's trip to a rainforest - Texas style.
